Preface to a Produced Space

While part of me is inclined to compose my hypertext entirely without a map (a reference that will make sense within the project), the pragmatic side of me understands the advantages of including a preface like the one you read now.

This work is an attempt to enact the production of (new) space as it discusses the need for, background for, and method for a pedagogy of spatial production. It coordinates between several threads, and provides the reader with many ways to navigate the text. As I will discuss further in, the difficulty of this sort of work is, in many ways, the difficulty of deciding on such narrative/topographical tools. Another question that arises as this work progresses is whether the notion of having to choose between navigational tools is itself a bit silly -- why choose? Doesn't having both add something?
