Browser
A browser is the software needed on
your computer to download and view files. These files can be of many types (text, video, and sound files) and can be located on the Internet, on a wide area network (sometimes referred
to as an Intranet), on a local area network, or on your own computer. Browsers locate these files by reading a URL (an address).
Netscape Navigator, Netscape Communicator, Mosaic, and Microsoft Internet Explorer are different types of browers.
