Skeletal outlines provide a brief outline of the class lecture; however, rather than providing a complete outline, there are places where the student must fill in pertinent information that he or she learns through the discussion/lecture. This kinesthetic activity keeps the student focused on the class discussion and also provides an indicator for which information he or she missed during the class. Finally, it indicates the organizational relationship between information covered in one class period, which helps students understand the connection between individual points.
